The IARD Research Database includes citations of biomedical, regulatory, behavioral, psychological and treatment research on beverage alcohol from peer-reviewed journals.

These include reviews, research papers, editorials, and letters. Citations are sourced from PubMed, The Web of Science, news, and publishers’ journal websites, which are searched daily or weekly. Coverage is comprehensive since 2015, extensive from 2005, and includes some materials from as early as 1870.

  • Active monitoring of key journals
  • Journal Table of Contents alerts
  • Research identified via monitoring of news sites (including Google News, EurekAlert!, and ScienceDirect)

Selection Criteria

Any article related to consumption, health, social, behavioral, policy, regulatory, prevention or treatment aspects of beverage alcohol is included. Selected articles that are still in “accepted article” format are included in the database, but their text may change so should only be used once they reach “published early online” format or appear in a journal issue and their citations updated in the IARD Research Database. Pre-print articles are not included.

The following journals are checked daily for new issues or articles (accepted or published early). Other journals that do not regularly appear on PubMed are also searched periodically or by Table of Contents alert.
